      Stoke vs West Brom Predictions

Much has been made of Stoke City’s dealings in the transfer market this summer. They have added a host of high profile names to their attacking lineup, with Joselu, Ibrahim Afellay, and Xherdan Shaqiri being the main prizes.

Shaqiri made his debut last weekend against Norwich, and instantly made an impact when his well delivered free kick was diverted into the net by Diouf.

Stoke couldn’t hold on for the win though and ended up taking their 2nd point of the season after their impressive fight back against Spurs the weekend before.

They are heading in the right direction though. They are looking more gelled as an attacking unit with each week that goes by and it’s only a matter of time before their wealth of attacking talent starts making waves.

None of their new attacking signings started their Capital One Cup game against Luton in midweek, with Joselu coming on midway through the second half and defender Wollscheid started the game. After finishing 1-1 thanks to a injury time equaliser from Luton, Stoke won on penalties.

West Brom were also taken to penalties by lower league opposition in the cup. Their game finished goalless against Port Vale, with the Premier League side coming out victorious after the spot kicks.

This was a far cry from the performance they put in against Chelsea last weekend. They picked themselves up after missing an early penalty and going 2-0 down, and fought their way back into the game. Unfortunately for them, it wasn’t to be and they ended up losing 3-2.

This made it 1 point from their opening 3 games, with their goalless draw against Watford being the only somewhat positive result.

Stoke have had the slight upper hand in recent meetings between the sides, having won 3, drawn 2, and lost 1 of their last 6 meetings. They also have the higher quality of players in their side and are showing signs of improvement. We think odds of 19/20 for a home win offer a lot of value.
