Sunderland vs West Ham Betting Tips

Sunderland’s opening two games of the season saw them put in shockingly bad performances against Leicester and Norwich, losing 4-2 and 3-1 respectively.

Things did look like they could be turning around when they battled to a 1-1 draw with Swansea and then a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, but then it all went wrong again.

They have now lost their last four games in all competitions, conceding ten goals and scoring only twice in the process.

This has left them rock bottom of the Premier League table with just two points from their opening seven games, and they look certain to be involved in the relegation battle come the second half of the season.

West Ham have been the definition of inconsistency so far this season. They have done something no other team has ever done by beating Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City away from home in the same season. But on the other end of the curve have succumbed to home defeats against Bournemouth and Leicester.

Their last match was a 2-2 draw at home to Norwich, with that point lifting them to an impressive 3^rd position in the table. They are only three points adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester United.

There are no new injury concerns for the Hammers either, with Alex Song, Enner Valencia, and Angelo Ogbonna still sidelined. Sunderland will be without Jack Rodwell, Duncan Watmore, and Adam Matthews.

West Ham have won two of their last three games against Sunderland, and I expect them to improve on that record on Saturday. I can’t see the disorganised Sunderland defence being able to cope with Dimitri Payet and Cheikhou Kouyate, who have scored six and assisted four between them this season. Odds of 13/10 for a West Ham win almost look too good to be true, and that’s definitely what most of my money is going on.
