Swansea City vs Cardiff Predictions
- Cardiff have won three of their last four home Championship games
- Swansea have lost their last three away league fixtures, including a 5-0 defeat at Burnley last weekend
- The Swans beat the Bluebirds 2-0 last March
Swansea can retain the Welsh bragging rights
Swansea are in good shape to retain the bragging rights in Sunday’s South Wales Derby when they host a Cardiff City team that were floored 5-0 by Burnley last weekend. Luke Williams’ men recorded a 2-0 victory over the Bluebirds last March to make it five wins in the last six meetings of these bitter rivals.
Cardiff are coming off a rotten result at Burnley that highlighted many of the shortcomings of their team this year. Erol Bulut lacks a reliable goalscorer at this level and his goalkeeper had a nightmare afternoon at Turf Moor, allowing a back pass to slide under his boot for the Clarets’ opener.
The Bluebirds will be without captain Joe Ralls for this clash too, although concerns over Aaron Ramsey’s fitness have been allayed by Bulut.
Clean sheet could be on the cards
Swansea appear to be firing on all cylinders at the moment after following up their 3-1 Carabao Cup win over Gillingham with a 3-0 victory at home to Preston last weekend.
Summer signing Zan Vipotnik opened his Championship account off the bench while attackers Ronald and Oliver Cooper provided enough ammunition to suggest the Swans will be in the play-off shake-up.
The hosts’ form at was once known at the Liberty Stadium is good enough to row in with a bet on the match result at a shade of odds on. Cardiff are yet to convince this season and may struggle to score against a Swans side that are solid enough to record a second clean sheet of the campaign.
