Swindon vs Oldham Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

These two might both be near the foot of the table but, with the way things have gone recently, they appear to be going in very different directions. Swindon continue to find it hard to acquire points, while Oldham have looked on the up of late having won three of their last four matches.

At the prices it seems the visitors, given their recent form, have been overlooked a bit. At odds of 10/11, ‘Oldham Draw No Bet’ is the way to go here.

The visitors, despite occupying a lowly position for most of the campaign, have actually looked fairly useful from a defensive point of view and have finally added a few more goals to their game. It is perhaps surprising to learn that Oldham have kept 12 clean sheets this season (second highest amount in League One), such has been their solidity at times. Against a lacklustre looking Swindon side, John Sheridan’s men could easily go well once again.

Recent times have not been kind to Swindon. The hosts come here having lost each of their last five matches. They’ve not exactly been getting battered by teams, but they continue to concede regular goals and are struggling to score enough at the other end. Such forward-woes don’t bode well ahead of facing a team who’ve kept five clean sheets in their last ten fixtures.

With neither of these two the brightest in front of goal, this match could be a case of whoever’s the strongest at the back takes the points. On this basis, it’s hard to argue that Oldham aren’t by far the more secure out of these two. If the visitors can continue to defend well here then there’s every chance that they can keep a poor Swindon side at bay.

Having tasted victory plenty of late, coupled with climbing out of the relegation zone, Oldham should feel confident right now – something that can’t said for Swindon. Backing the visitors on the ‘Draw No Bet’ market is the way to play this one.
