Switzerland vs Liechtenstein Predictions
- Switzerland have won all seven previous meetings, scoring a total 20 goals and conceding just one.
- Vladimir Petkovic’s side have won their last five internationals against stronger opponents than they face here, netting 12 goals in total.
- Liechtenstein have lost four of their last five outings, including 5-0 and 1-4 defeats to North Macedonia and Iceland respectively.
Swiss to roll over neighbours in St. Gallen
Switzerland had to battle hard for a 2-1 success over the United States here on Sunday, but they should find things a great deal easier when they face off against lowly Liechtenstein this week.
This is the Swiss’ final warm-up game before their Euro 2020 opener against Wales on 12th June, and Vladimir Petkovic’s side will be keen to move through the gears by putting their neighbours to the sword in St. Gallen.
The result simply isn’t in question here with 169 places separating the sides in the FIFA Rankings and the hosts winning all seven previous meetings by an aggregate score of 20-1.
The Swiss have won five on the bounce going into this, netting 12 goals in the process, so there’s no excuses should they fail to smash in a hatful. Liechtenstein have suffered heavy recent defeats against Malta (3-0), North Macedonia (5-0) and Iceland (1-4) – nations which all fall someway below this Thursday’s hosts in terms of quality.
There isn’t a heap of value in the handicap markets with Switzerland 1/25 in the match betting, but we can be fairly certain that Petkovic’s charges can cover a three goal handicap at a shade under evens and we’re also forecasting a 5-0 romp as our correct score selection.
