Switzerland Women 2-1

Reason for tip

Both of these sides are in poor form but Switzerland have home advantage and that may give them the edge. Goals at both ends are expected so back the Swiss to pick up a vital 2-1 win.

Switzerland Women vs Iceland Women Predictions

  • Switzerland have conceded in seven consecutive games.
  • Iceland have conceded in six of their last seven games.
  • Iceland have just one win in their last 12 games.

Stakes are high in Bern

Switzerland and Iceland meet at the Stadion Wankdorf on Sunday in a crucial Women’s Euro 2025 Group A clash.

Host nation Switzerland opened the scoring against Norway in their tournament opener but slipped to a 2-1 defeat, while Iceland went down 1-0 to Finland.

A second defeat for either side here would all-but end any hopes of reaching the knockout stages and both of these teams come into the game in poor form.

Home advantage gives Switzerland the edge and they were arguably unlucky not to claim at least a point against the Norwegians. A win for the hosts nation is one option but the standout bet here looks to be backing both teams to score as both defences look suspect.

Iceland have conceded in six of their last seven games, while the Swiss have conceded in each of their last seven. That run includes a 3-3 draw between these two sides in Iceland in the Nations League back in April.

Both of these sides are in poor form as Switzerland have seven defeats in 10 and Iceland have won just one of their last 12. As such picking a winner is tricky here but the Swiss did impress at various stages against Norway and their recent defeats have all come against a high standard of opponent. With home advantage, they may be able to claim the points and a 2-1 win for the host nation is the correct score pick.
