Sydney FC finished last season just behind Melbourne Victory in the regular Hyundai A-League table before losing out to the same team in the A-League Championship playoffs. Unfortunately for them, it looks like they’re going to have even more competition this season.

They come into this match in 5^th position in the A-League, six points adrift of leaders Western Sydney Wanderers, level on points with the two teams above them, and only a point above Adelaide United.
