Sydney FC vs Western Sydney Wanderers Predictions
Sydney FC are having a bit of a difficult time this season, and are probably still hurting a bit after so narrowly missing out on both the Hyundai A-League Premier and Champion titles last season to Melbourne Victory. They come into this game having lost three and drawn one of their last four games, including two home defeats in the last three weeks. Before that they had managed a four match unbeaten streak, but their recent form and a few other poor spells leave them seven points adrift of the top of the A-League table down in 6th. A loss on Saturday could see them drop out of the playoff positions as Perth Glory lurk three points behind them.
Western Sydney Wanderers surprisingly lost to the out of form Wellington Phoenix last weekend in a seven goal thriller ending 5-2, but before that they had won two and drawn one of their three matches since being defeated by Sydney FC back in January. Both of these defeats have been at home though, and on the road they have picked up 14 points from their last seven games. This leaves them well in contention for the top spot in the A-League, and the added incentive of only being a point behind leaders Brisbane Roar is likely to spur them on.
Reasons for Betting Tips
Western Sydney Wanderers have enjoyed some fantastic form this season, and despite their loss at the weekend they are still a very good side, especially away from home. They have only lost one of their last seven on the road and are facing a Sydney FC side coming into the game after back to back home defeats in the A-League.
A 5-2 humiliation by the out of form Wellington Phoenix will be a catalyst for a Western Sydney Wanderers resurgence I think, and facing a cross-city rival in poor form should be enough to spur them on to put in a good performance on Saturday. They will also be keen to end the poor run they are on against Sydney FC.
Western Sydney Wanderers record of only 22% of away matches seeing them keep a clean sheet make a Sydney FC goal likely though, so a 2-1 correct score prediction looks good to me.

Head to Head
Sydney FC have had the much better time of it against cross-city rivals Western Sydney Wanderers in their recent fixtures. The home side have won their last three matches against them and have won five of the last six meetings, drawing the remaining game and not losing since 2014.
Statistics
Western Sydney Wanderers possess the best away record in the Hyundai A-League this season, with their average points record of 1.67 points per game on the road outperforming Sydney FC’s average of 1.5 points per home game this season, which leaves them 7th in the A-League’s home table.
Team News
According to the Hyundai A-League’s records there are no injury concerns for either side coming into this match, so both of them should have a full host of players available to them.
