Telstar vs FC Den Bosch Predictions

Den Bosch have been the surprise package in Eerste Divisie this term, and The Blue White Dragons proved last week that they’re the real deal by beating promotion favourites FC Twente to leapfrog the Enschede outfit in the table. Wil Boessen’s side are now up to 3rd in the standings after a magnificent seven wins on the bounce, and they’ll take some stopping this weekend when they take on Telstar at IJmond Stadion.

Den Bosch took their form to a new level last Friday as goals from Stefano Beltrame and Stefan Velkov secured a 2-1 victory against Twente at Stadion De Vliert, and a return to Eredivisie after a 14 year absence is looking more possible by the week for The Blue White Dragons.

A perfect seven wins from seven has taken Den Bosch up to 3rd in the table and they trail leaders Sparta Rotterdam by just two points heading into match day 14, whilst they hold a healthy four point cushion over 6th placed Oss who sit just outside the Play-off spots.

With Sparta facing a potentially tricky trip to NEC this weekend and 2nd placed Go Ahead Eagles facing off against 4th placed Twente, Wil Boessen’s side could really take advantage this Sunday where they’ll be expected to make it eight on the spin against an inconsistent Telstar outfit.

Telstar have enjoyed a decent fortnight after sealing back to back successes against Go Ahead (2-1) and FC Eindhoven (1-2), but their overall form this season has been in and out with six wins and seven defeats recorded from their 13 Eerste Divisie matches.

Mike Snoei’s men have won three and lost three at home, with MVV (0-1), Twente (1-3) and NEC (0-3) all walking away from IJmuiden with a victory, and that form suggests that Den Bosch are great value for this Sunday’s contest at odds-against.

One niggling doubt for Den Bosch backers is the fact they’ve lost on their last three visits to IJmond Stadion, but this current team is a cut above recent incarnations that have failed to get anywhere near the top of the table.

With five wins and one defeat from six outings on their travels this term, Den Bosch have the best away record in Eerste Divisie and they’ve kept clean sheets in their last three games on the road, including a 0-1 success over Oss on match day ten and a 0-1 victory against Jong PSV two weeks ago.

With Telstar scoring just six goals in as many games at home and failing to score in five of their 13 matches in total this season, the hosts shouldn’t give Den Bosch too much to worry about on that front in this encounter which we can only see ending one way.

Den Bosch have shown themselves to be a solid and accomplished team getting better by the week, and we’re backing Wil Boessen’s side to land the odds again this weekend with a 0-2 success in IJmuiden.
