Torpedo Zhodino vs Belshina Bobruisk Predictions

No Belarusian Premier League club suffered a worse start to the season than Belshina Bobruisk, who lost 3-1 at home to Minsk after earning promotion to the top tier last campaign.

Bobruisk stormed the Belarusian First League, winning 21 of their 28 matches and netting 74 goals to pip Smolevichi to the title. But this is uncharted territory for many of their players with the club having last played in the top flight in 2016.

A trip to Torpedo-Belaz Zhodino represents a step up in quality. They are fresh from avenging their Belarusian Cup exit to FC Shakhtyor by beating the same side 1-0 on the opening day of the league season.

Torpedo-Belaz managed a sixth-placed finish in 2019, losing only four of their 15 home league encounters and conceding just 14 goals at their Zhodino home base.

They can boast experience at the back in the likes of former Dinamo Brest defender Uladzimir Shcherba and Russian Vitali Ustinov, who once played at Rubin Kazan.

Torpedo-Belaz were a long way off making the Europa League qualifying rounds but a run of one win in four matches at the end of last season prevented them from landing a top-four berth.

Their return of 41 goals in 30 league assignments last term coupled with a tally of only 13 wins from 30 games suggest they are not the kind of side to blow opponents apart and punters may want to look at a Torpedo-Belaz win and under 3.5 goals.
