Torquay vs Dover Predictions
Torquay started the season well, picking up two wins from their opening three matches. Unfortunately for them, they then embarked on a dreadful streak that they are yet to break out of.
They haven’t won any of their last 11 Conference National games, being defeated seven times and drawing four games.
They have lost all of their last four matches, conceding 13 times and scoring four at the other end.
This obviously leaves them in quite a disappointing position in the league table, with their ten point tally leaving them in 22nd position in the table.
They will have been hoping to improve on their 13th position last season, but at the moment they aren’t showing any signs on improving on their 22nd placed position, let alone 13th.
Dover have been improving though. They finished in 8th position last season but are currently sitting in the playoff zone in 5th place.
This is thanks to the three game winning streak they are currently enjoying, with them picking up 11 points from the last 15 available.
They did lose their opening game of the season away to the newly promoted Barrow, but since then they have only lost once and won six times.
After playing out three goalless draws in four matches back at the start of September, it seems that Dover have found their scoring boots. They have netted ten times in their last three games, an excellent return from a side who seem to be in the ascendancy.
Torquay took four points off Dover when they played each other last season, but I’m not expecting that to be the case in this match. I think Dover will get the win taking into account Torquay’s shocking recent form, and odds of 1/1 look like really good value for a Dover win.
