Tromso can maintain winning run against Valerenga

Bodo/Glimt have once again been the standout team in Norway’s Eliteserien this season but hot on their heels are Tromso, who are overpriced to win against lowly Valerenga on Sunday.

In 2022, only one point separated Valerenga and Tromso in the Eliteserien standings but they have gone in different directions this season.

Tromso are the form team in the Eliteserien, having strung together five wins in a row in the league against Haugesund, Sarpsborg, Aalesund, Stabaek and Lillestrom to fly up the table.

Winger Vegard Erlien has been in fine form for the hosts, contributing seven goals in the league this term, whereas things are not looking good for Tromso’s opponents Valerenga.

As it stands, Valerenga are just above the relegation zone in the Eliteserien, having lost seven of their 11 matches this season.

And they go into this contest with the added disadvantage of being without starting defender Fredrik Oldrup Jensen, who was sent off in the 2-1 defeat to Viking last time out.

A Tromso triumph looks on the cards but given the hosts have also conceded only 11 times in 12 matches this term, it could be a low-scoring one.
