Troyes vs Bordeaux Predictions
- Troyes have failed to win six of their eight Ligue 1 home games this season.
- Bordeaux have avoided defeat in five of their eight Ligue 1 away games in 2021-22.
- Tristan Dingome has been involved in Troyes’ last five league goals (2 goals, 3 assists in 5 games).
Bordeaux won’t taste defeat in Champagne region
Bordeaux are still shaky, but Les Girondins can avoid the taste of defeat when they travel to the Champagne region on Sunday to face Troyes.
Both clubs sit on the fringe of the relegation zone with Bordeaux much too close for comfort in 17th place. Vladimir Petkovic’s side look too talented to go down, but they must toughen up and eradicate the mistakes that have seen them throw away plenty of points this season.
They have grabbed the lead in four of their last five away matches, yet taken just two points from those games. The most galling of those must have been at Metz where they led 2-0 and 3-2 against ten men, but still had to settle for a draw.
Both sides tend to run out of steam
Troyes are a well organised side with a bit of talent in midfield, but have shown they can lack the finishing power in games too. Ten points have gone begging in their home games already during a run in which they have lost leads against PSG, Montpellier, Angers and Rennes.
And while we would rather take our chances on Bordeaux in the double chance market than Troyes here, we do like the prospects of Tristan Dingome adding to his goal tally against the team with the division’s worst defensive record.
The left-footed playmaker, who has scored twice and assisted three other goals in Troyes’ last five, takes a lot of his team’s attacking set-pieces. The correct score market is full of value if you believe Bordeaux can maintain their average of two goals per game over the last seven fixtures, so we are forecasting a 2-2 draw.
