Turkey vs Andorra Predictions

Turkey are in a strong position in one of the tightest groups in Euro 2020 qualifying. They are one of three teams sat on nine points in the race for a top-two finish, with Albania not far behind on six. There could be a four-way fight for a spot at the tournament, which has left Turkey needing to rack up the points at home to stay in the fight. That shouldn’t be a problem for them this week, as they are heavy favourites to see off an Andorra side who make the trip to Istanbul in horrible form.

Turkey have managed to win three of their four qualifiers so far, including a 2-1 victory against France here. Having come through one of their tougher games with a win, the hosts can’t be too concerned about what is to come here. They may have a few reservations about their away form based on their 2-1 loss at Iceland, as that could cost them down the line. However, first, they will be looking to secure a routine win over Andorra and keep up their top two push this weekend.

Andorra come here having struggled to win against poor sides, never mind their games in this group. They failed to win any of their matches in the bottom tier of the Nations League, so it isn’t a surprise that they sit bottom of this group without a point. The visitors have little to offer going forward, while they’ve shipped 10 goals in their four matches so far. Given that this marks one of their toughest away games in the campaign, the visitors should be worried about adding to that total significantly this weekend.

Turkey have racked up four straight wins at home, while they’ve won five of their last six games. They meet an Andorra side who lost by three goals or more in four of their five trips in World Cup qualifying, while on the road towards Euro 2016 both Cyprus and Israel thumped them at home. That’s left Andorra looking like rank outsiders here, especially against an improving Turkey.

The hosts were able to hit five past Andorra at home in 2013, while we see them racking up the goals here. The visitors have failed to score in 10 away games in European Championship qualifying, while Turkey should rack up the goals. We are going with Turkey with a -3 handicap in this weekend’s clash, while we are also backing the home side to secure a 4-0 victory in Istanbul.
