Twente Double Chance (Win or Draw) @ 1/2

We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
Twente 2-1 @ 17/2

Reason For Twente vs Heerenveen Predictions

  • Twente held Heerenveen to a goalless draw in the pairs’ reverse league fixture in August.
  • Twente have only lost 2 of their last 6 matches.
  • Heerenveen are without a win in their last 8 league games.
  • Heerenveen have conceded 2 or more goals in 4 of their last 5 league games.

A win for Twente would see the two clubs go level on points

Twente narrowly lost 2-1 away at European hopefuls Utrecht last time out while Heerenveen were held to a 2-2 draw at home by struggling Den Haag, which means the gap between the two clubs was raised slightly to 3pts. However, despite that defeats it’s Twente that head into Saturday’s clash as the clear form favourites with two wins, two draws, and two defeats from their last six outings, with Heerenveen failing to win any of their last six matches in league or cup.

Saturday’s hosts held Heerenveen to a draw when the pair locked horns in August for their reverse league fixture and will be confident that they can take home at least a share of the spoils this weekend as well. Twente have won five times at home this season and play much better there than they do on the road, while Heerenveen have been hit and miss on their travels, losing six games and winning four.

Twente average 1.50 points per home game and Heerenveen average 1.18 points per away game, so you can see why we have backed Twente with a double chance bet this weekend. The hosts have only lost 33% of their home matches while their guests have failed to win 64% of their trips on the road.

Heerenveen haven’t won in the league since returning from the winter break

Twente score an average of 1.75 goals per home game and concede 1.58 goals while Heerenveen score and concede an average of 1.91 goals per away game and with those stats in mind, we have backed a final scoreline of 2-1 in the hosts’ favour. Over 2.5 goals have been produced in 58% of Twente’s home games as well as in 82% of Heerenveen’s away trips and both teams have scored in 58% of the hosts’ home matches and in 73% of the visitors’ away games, adding further weight to our prediction for a final score of 2-1.

The hosts have only kept clean sheets in 25% of their home games this season and Heerenveen have only managed to shut their opponents out in 18% of their away games, so we are expecting both teams to find the back of the net on Saturday. Heerenveen have only failed to score in 9% of their away games this season, and in one of their last six outings, so despite their poor form we still believe the visitors carry a threat going forward.

We’re confident that a double chance bet on Twente is the best way to go this weekend and we have predicted a final scoreline of 2-1. The hosts are the form favourites and had a decent record at home while their guests are in the midst of a poor run of form which has seen them fail to win any of their last eight matches in the Eredivisie. Heerenveen do score plenty of goals though which is why we have backed a double chance bet rather than an outright win for the hosts this weekend.
