Unterhaching vs Bayer Leverkusen Betting Tips

It wasn’t an age ago that we were talking about Unterhaching as a Bundesliga side, but their rapid rise to the German top flight was followed by an even quicker fall into the 4^th tier of German football.

They were relegated from the Bundesliga in 2001, and now ply their trade in the Regionalliga Bayern after their relegation from the 3. Liga last season.

They come into this match on the back of a four match winless streak as well, with two league losses and two draws proving a stumbling block after an impressive start to the season.

Unterhaching have already dispatched of Bundesliga opposition in the DFB Pokal this season though, with Ingolstadt falling to a 2-1 defeat back in August before they beat RB Leipzig in October.

Bayer Leverkusen managed to give themselves a building block to get out of their own period of poor form on Saturday. They hammered the in form Borussia Monchengladbach 5-0 to pick up their 2^nd win in ten matches in all competitions.

But this 5-0 thrashing will have boosted the Leverkusen players’ confidence enormously, especially Javier Hernandez, who managed to net a 13 minute hat trick in the second half.

They will be keen to keep this momentum going with a comprehensive win over their lower league opposition, much like they have in their previous DFB Pokal fixtures this season. They won their cup opener 3-0 against Sportfreunde Lotte and thrashed Viktoria Plzen 6-0 in their next cup match.

These two sides met each other four times during Unterhaching’s brief Bundesliga spell, with Bayer Leverkusen taking the points on three occasions.

I’m expecting Bayer Leverkusen to get another win on Tuesday as well, and considering that four of their last five wins have seen them win by a two goal margin or more I think that odds of 1.600 for a Bayer Leverkusen -1.5 Asian Handicap Win are good value. Their defence isn’t too sturdy though, so I’m backing Unterhaching to score in a 4-1 defeat at 16/1 as well.
