Venezia desperately need the points

A run of four straight defeats, albeit only conceded seven goals in the process, has left Venezia in real trouble in Serie A, as they sit bottom of the table.

Their defence has been a particular concern, with the Winged Lions failing to keep a clean sheet this season and seeing their back line  breached a whopping 25 times in 14 outings.

If there is reason to be positive, it is that both of their victories this season have come at home, while five of their last nine fixtures have seen both teams score.

Como searching for form

The visitors, on the other hand, sit just two places and three points above Venezia in the table, although they have conceded one more goal over the course of the league campaign.

Indeed, eight of Como’s last 11 games have resulted in both teams scoring, as have six of their nine away matches across all competitions.

In fact, Cesc Fabregas’ side are yet to keep a clean sheet on the road, but they do generally find the back of the net, doing so in all bar three of their 11 most recent games.

I predict that both teams will score in this game, but with the stakes being so high, a 1-1 draw is my correct score prediction.
