Verona desperate for points

It’s been a terrible start to the season for Verona, who sit bottom of Serie A after picking up just five points in 14 games, conceding a league-high of 27 goals in the process.

They do tend to find the back of the net themselves though, with both teams scoring in five of their last seven outings.

However, they have lost seven successive matches, including all five under new manager Salvatore Bocchetti, who needs to see a quick improvement in his side.

Will Spezia finally get off the mark?

While Verona sit bottom of the division, Spezia have Serie A’s worst away record, losing each of their seven games and scoring just one goal in the process.

There are signs of improvement though, as that strike came at AC Milan in a 2-1 defeat, while they also beat Brescia in the Coppa Italia, meaning both teams have netted in five of their last six fixtures.

Luca Gotti’s side drew 1-1 last weekend at home to Udinese, but are also seven games without a win in the league, four of which have seen both teams net.

Something has to give in terms of a result in this fixture, but I predict that both teams will score, selecting 1-1 as a correct score prediction.
