      Vitesse vs Heracles Predictions

Vitesse lost to Feyenoord last weekend but remain in the top seven on nine points, while their opponents on Sunday sit fourth in the table and picked up their fifth league win of the campaign last weekend. Heracles have surprised many with their start to the season, and owe a lot to the form of Swedish striker Peterson, who has scored more goals than his side have played games in the Eredivisie this season.

Vitesse took the lead away at Feyenoord in the thirty-seventh minute through Bero, and even lead at the break, but it turned out to be a false dawn for the visitors. Brazilian defender Botteghin levelled the teams just two minutes into the second half, and when Bruns was sent-off for Vitesse in the sixty-third minute the game began to slip away from them.

The hosts finally scored the winning goal through veteran striker van Persie with just three minutes left on the clock, but drama followed in stoppage time as both sides had men sent-off. Match winner van Persie was the first to be shown a red card, but with virtually the last action of the match Vitesse had their second player given his marching order when defender Doekhi picked up his second yellow card of the match.

Matavž top scores for the hosts with five goals in the league so far, and is clearly enjoying his second season with the club, but the striker could miss out this weekend with a knee injury. Without Matavž in their side Vitesse may well struggle against their in form guests, especially as the only other player in the squad to have scored more than once this season is Bero, with two goals.

A great start to the game helped Heracles on their way to three points at home to newly promoted Emmen last weekend, with goals from Kuwas and Peterson inside the opening seven minutes handing the hosts a 2-0 lead at the break.

Heracles didn’t have things all their own way against Emmen and the visitors ended the game with 52% of the possession and more shots on target during the ninety minutes. Emmen got back into the match via a sixty-eighth minute Jansen penalty, but Heracles held on to secure all three points.

With five wins, one drawn and just a single defeat from their opening seven Eredivisie matches this season, Heracles have started the season better than anyone would of imagined and it will be interesting to see if they can maintain their form and challenge for the European places. If eight-goal striker Peterson continues to find the back of the net on a regular basis then Heracles will be in or around the top seven this season.

We’re confident that Heracles will take something from Sunday’s game and have backed the visitors with a double chance bet. Heracles have won their last five matches in all competitions, while Vitesse have drawn and lost their last two home games in the Eredivisie. Heracles have only lost one of their last five matches against Vitesse, and with form in their favour, we can see the visitors picking up a 3-1 win this weekend.
