Wales Over 3.5 Team Goals

Reason for tip

Wales have scored four goals in two of their last six home games against a higher level of opposition. The Dragons are still looking to impress under relatively new boss Craig Bellamy, and they should be able to score at least four against a Liechtenstein outfit who sit 205th out of 210 in the FIFA rankings.

Wales 5-0

Reason for tip

A big Wales win looks likely and 5-0 for the hosts has a reasonable chance. Five goals could be the mercy point for Wales and Liechtenstein have failed to score in four of their last five games, drawing blanks against the likes of Gibraltar and Malta.

Brennan Johnson To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Brennan Johnson didn’t score in the last batch of qualifiers but comes into this international break after a strong end to the season with Spurs. Johnson scored two goals in his final five games, including the winner in the Europa League final, and he can add to his international haul here.

Wales vs Liechtenstein Predictions

  • Wales have scored four goals in two of their last six home games.
  • Liechtenstein are ranked 205 out of 210 in the FIFA rankings.
  • Liechtenstein have failed to score in four of their last five games.

Routine win for Wales

Wales continue their bid for a place at World Cup 2026 on Friday as they face minnows Liechtenstein at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The visitors are sit 205 out of 210 in the FIFA rankings and anything other than a convincing win for the Welsh would register as a shock.

That is reflected in the odds, as Wales are the huge favourites to win so the best angles look to be either the handicap markets or the team goals market and I’m opting for over 3.5 goals for the hosts.

The Dragons, who sit 29th in the FIFA rankings, have scored eight goals across their last three games against a far higher standard of opposition.

Liechtenstein have shipped 10 goals across their last four games against Malta, San Marino, North Macedonia and Kazakhstan – and three of those games have been home fixtures.

Wales are probably still enjoying a bit of a new manager bounce under Craig Bellamy, who is unbeaten after eight games in charge, and may want to put on a bit of a show here. They should be able to grab a few goals and correct score bettors may consider a 5-0 win for the hosts.

Five goals could be the mercy point for Wales, who have scored four goals in two of their last six home games. Liechtenstein have failed to score in four of their last five games, drawing blanks against the likes of Gibraltar and Malta, and don’t possess the kind of quality that should be able to trouble even a rotated Wales backline if Bellamy does decide to tinker with his team.

Brennan Johnson didn’t score in the last batch of qualifiers but comes into this international break after a strong end to the season with Spurs. Johnson scored two goals in his final five games, including the winner in the Europa League final, and he looks a decent pick for an anytime goal.
