NHL Double Tip
The Maple Leafs are clearly a much stronger team, and I think they will show that here. After another disappointing playoff run, they will start the season with a sense of urgency and determination. Especially on the road, the Maple Leafs should come out flying looking to beat their longtime rival in a home opener disappointment and kick off the season with a win.
The Avalanche head to The Strip to take on the Golden Knights in a marquee matchup in the opener for both sides. Alexandar Georgiev won 38 games last season for Colorado, but he was 1-2-0 with a 3.64 GAA and .876 SV% in three tries against Vegas. On the flip side, Adin Hill gets the nod, and he was 2-0-0 with a 1.48 GAA and .954 SV% with a shutout against the Avs. Back the home side.

The Rangers have effectively the same roster as last year, in which they won the President’s trophy. They outclass the Penguins in their forwards, defense, and goalies. The Penguins rely too much on their aging stars, with Crosby, Malkin and Letang all being in their late 30s, with little gas left in the tank. The Rangers should jump on the Penguins early and never look back.

The Jets are going through a little bit of a change. Bench boss Rick Bowness retired, and it’s now Scott Arniel’s job. The Jets are still dangerous with Connor Hellebuyck in net, but he can’t do it all. For the Oilers, they were within one win of a Stanley Cup victory, and they added Viktor Arvidsson and Jeff Skinner to the mix. This is a dangerous team, but it might take time to jell. The Under is 4-1 in the past five meetings in Edmonton, so we might get a slow start.
US Sports Best Bet Double
The Yankees have one thing in mind on Wednesday and that’s not to go down 2-1 in this series against the Royals. This Yankees lineup is built around Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, and even though Judge has struggled against Lugo in the past, I think he finds a way to get on base, forcing Lugo to pitch around other hitters and he’ll make one too many mistakes. Schmidt has been solid since returning from the IL and I think the Yankees do enough to take a 2-1 series lead against KC.
