Reason For Walsall vs Northampton Predictions

  • Walsall have lost three of their last five but have picked up four points in their last two games.
  • Northampton currently sit in the playoff positions but have lost their last two games.
  • Walsall have only scored 32 goals in 33 games, less than a goal a game.
  • Northampton have scored 45 times this season, an average of 1.40 goals per game.

Can Walsall continue their mini run of form?

Walsall have picked up four point in two games but prior to that lost four of their previous five. Form has been hard to find for the Midlands club this season and they are one of only a handful of clubs to average less than a goal a game this season, with a lack of firepower being a big problem for the team.

Their goalscoring issues have been prevalent over their last five games with just four goals being scored whilst their defensive issues have also been highlighted with the team conceded 7 goals in that time, an average of 1.4 goals per game.

Can Northampton rediscover their playoff form?

Northampton currently occupy a playoff place but they’ve lost two in a row as they struggled to consolidate their place in the top seven. Those losses, against Swindon and Port Vale, have both been by a goal to nil, highlighting how tight games in this division can be.

Northampton have scored 45 times this season, an average of 1.4 goals per game but their excellent defensive record has been a real highlight with the side conceded only a shade over a goal a game with 33 goals conceded in 32 games.

Which sides leave Bescot Stadium with all three points?

This game looks like it could be a tight one with their form of these two teams being taken into account and we can’t see much between these two teams. We think that both sides will have some chances in the game though and are backing both teams to score as they try and claim all three points.

The scoreline should be a relatively low one despite the two sides both finding the net and we think these two will have to share the points this weekend. With that in mind we think this game finishes with a 1-1 scoreline frustrating both sides as they look for the win.
