Watford vs Liverpool predictions for Saturday’s Premier League clash at Vicarage Road. Watford hope to move out of the Premier League relegation zone when they face the unbeaten Liverpool on Saturday. Read on for all our free Premier League predictions and betting tips.

Predictions & Tips

Liverpool To Win To Nil @ 8/5

We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
Liverpool 2-0 @ 15/2

Reason For Watford vs Liverpool Predictions

  • Liverpool have won to nil in each of their last four meetings with Watford.
  • Watford have the joint worst attacking record in the Premier League, scoring just 24 goals in 27 games.
  • Liverpool have won to nil in 10 of their last 12 Premier League matches, including five of their last six away from home.
  • Liverpool have averaged 2.0 goals per away game this season, scoring exactly two goals on six occasions.

Hornets’ revival hits stumbling block

Watford looked bound for a great escape earlier this season as Nigel Pearson took charge and led them on a charge off the bottom of the Premier League table, but a couple of short months later and the Hornets find their confidence dwindling yet again.

Their 3-0 defeat to Manchester United last time out made it five league games without a win, leaving them 19th in the table and a point from safety. There’s plenty of time yet for them to turn this around, but they have looked a shadow of the team that embarked on a five match unbeaten streak just before Christmas.

Admittedly, Watford’s form at Vicarage Road is slightly better, but they have still only won three league games there all season and have scored just 13 goals – the third lowest figure in the top flight.

Unstoppable Liverpool take another step towards the title

Liverpool, of course, are storming towards their first ever Premier League title. They hold a monumental 22 point lead in the title race and equalled Manchester City’s record of 18 consecutive Premier League wins with their 3-2 win against West Ham on Monday.

That five goal thriller can be classed as an exception rather than a rule though. Liverpool have been far more defensively sound than that match would suggest, keeping a clean sheet in 10 of their last 12 league games and five of their last six away from home.

Watford’s attack to struggle against fearsome Liverpool back line

It’s this defensive solidity that will worry Nigel Pearson. Watford are the joint lowest scorers in the top flight and have failed to score in 44% of their outings this season. Liverpool may rest some players in preparation for Tuesday’s FA Cup tie with Chelsea, but even so backing Liverpool to Win to Nil looks very good value to us.

We’re also going for a 2-0 correct score prediction on Saturday. Liverpool have averaged exactly two goals per away game in the league this season and have scored exactly two goals on six occasions, so a comfortable win for the visitors looks to be on the cards.
