Watford vs Manchester City Betting Tips

Watford’s excellent unbeaten streak unfortunately came to an end on Monday when Tottenham Hotspur managed to beat them 2-1.

This was their first defeat in six outings, with four of their five lossless games resulting in all three points for the newly promoted side.

This has lifted Watford to 9^th in the Premier League table, and their 29 point total leaves them just two points adrift of Crystal Palace in the Europa League qualification position.

Manchester City visited Premier League frontrunners Leicester on Tuesday as they tried to eliminate the gap between them at the top of the table.

They could only manage a goalless draw though, and they remain in 3^rd position after two wins, two defeats, and one draw in their last five Premier League outings.

All of Manchester City’s dropped points have come on the road, and their record away from the Etihad is starting to look a bit worrying. They haven’t won any of their last five matches on the road, with three defeats and two draws making up the results.

They will definitely need to up their game away from home if they want to continue challenging for the Premier League title, but I’m not sure an in form Watford is the place they will turn it around.

The newly promoted side performed admirably against Manchester City when they met at the Etihad in August, coming away with a fairly respectable 2-0 defeat considering both teams’ form at the time.

Apart from their 2-1 defeat to Spurs on Monday, Watford’s defence has been excellent recently. They have kept three clean sheets in their last five matches and they’re coming up against a Manchester City side who have only scored once in their last five away days in all competitions.

This makes odds of 5/4 for a Watford Win or Draw Double Chance look excellent value for money, and I’m going for that along with a 1-0 Watford Win at 16/1.
