Goals in short supply at Vicarage Road

Saturday’s Championship clash between Watford and Millwall at Vicarage Road is unlikely to produce many goals. Millwall are struggling to find the back of the net this season and under 2.5 goals looks the best bet.

Watford are two places above Millwall in the table, but there is only a four-point gap between the two sides. The hosts sit tenth with 14 wins, seven draws and 14 losses, while Millwall have 11 wins, 12 draws and 12 defeats.

Watford beat Luton 2-0 two weeks ago in their last home game, but have lost five of the six before that and Millwall are hard to beat, having avoided defeat in seven of their last nine league matches. They won 1-0 against Derby two weeks ago in their last league away game.

Watford’s 0-0 draw away at Stoke was their third consecutive Championship game with under 2.5 goals. 

Two of the last three times that Watford have hosted Millwall in the Championship have ended with under 2.5 goals and this is unlikely to be a goal fest with the 1-1 draw looking a decent correct-score bet. 

Two of Millwall’s last four Championship games have been 1-1 draws and they have drawn 12 matches this season, seven of them finishing 1-1.
