West Brom vs Chelsea Betting Tips

West Brom had a difficult start to the season. Not only did they have to wait until Monday evening to kick off for the season, but they had to host a Manchester City side desperate to regain the title.

It ended 3-0 to the visitors, a fair and unsurprising result for a Man City side who looked like a classy outfit even without Sergio Aguero at full fitness.

Their defence improved for their visit to Watford last weekend though. They managed to hold the attacking side at bay for the entire match, but couldn’t get one at the other end. Still, a point away from home is rarely a bad outcome.

Chelsea didn’t have a fantastic start to the campaign either. First, they lost the Community Shield to Arsenal at the beginning of the month, and followed this up with a disappointing draw at home to Swansea on the opening day of the season.

Their defence looked a shambles, and the visitors came from behind twice to claim a deserved point from the difficult fixture. Thibaut Courtois picked up a red card as well, causing him to miss the following match against Manchester City.

It’s unlikely that things would have been different had he been on though. Manchester City dominated for most of the match, with Sergio Aguero getting a first half goal before Kompany and Fernandinho getting late goals to seal the victory.

This leaves Chelsea 5 points adrift of their main title contenders after just 2 games, and they need to get their game sorted out quickly before it becomes too late.

It gets worse for Chelsea as well. They have failed to win any of their last 3 matches at the Hawthorns, with West Brom beating them 2 of the 3 times.

I can see West Brom getting something from this game, and I think that odds of 1.750 for a West Brom +1 Asian Handicap Win are very good value.
