West Brom vs Swansea Predictions

West Brom held out as long as they could against Chelsea on Sunday, but in the end they were taken apart by the in form Premier League leaders and succumbed to a 1-0 defeat. Their performance against such in form opposition will certainly be a boost in confidence though, and after their four match unbeaten streak prior to that they will be in high spirits heading into a packed festive season.

Before this 1-0 defeat West Brom managed to secure wins against Leicester, Burnley, and Watford with a draw away to Hull interrupting this winning streak. This is a definite improvement over their usual struggles in the lower mid table positions, and they reside in 8th position at the moment.

Swansea have seen their fortunes turn around recently as well though, with their impressive 3-0 win over Sunderland making it two wins, one draw, and one defeat in their last four outings.

The other one of these victories was an incredible 5-4 win over Crystal Palace, so they certainly have goals in them this season. The vast majority of these have come at home though, and away from home their top scorers are Gyfli Sigurdsson and Leroy Fer with just two goals apiece.

West Brom have shown vast improvements in their attacking ability, largely thanks to the signing of Nacer Chadli to provide support to Salomon Rondon up front. Both players have four goals to their name this season, but with three of Chadli’s coming at the Hawthorns he looks the best choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions.

The ex-Spurs winger should find a few chances on Wednesday as well, because Swansea have conceded 16 goals in their seven away days in all competitions this season. This has led to them losing five of their last six on the road, whilst West Brom have won three of their last five at the Hawthorns.

West Brom’s last two home games have seen them thrash Burnley 4-0 and beat Watford 3-1 as well, and prior to that they beat West Ham 4-2. Overall I think they look the better team at the moment, and I’m backing them to get the win at 1/1 along with a 2-1 correct score predictions at 17/2.
