West Bromwich Albion vs Everton Predictions

  • Everton avoided defeat in each of their last eight away league assignments.
  • Everton won each of their last two Premier League fixtures.
  • The Toffees hammered WBA 5-2 when the teams last met in September.
  • WBA have won only one of their seven home league games under Sam Allardyce.

West Brom strike it lucky

Sam Allardyce finally secured his second win as West Brom boss at the weekend, though the Baggies needed a succession of lucky breaks to eke out a 1-0 victory over Brighton.

The Seagulls missed two penalties and had a Lewis Dunk effort controversially chalked off at the Hawthorns, though Big Sam won’t be guilt-ridden after his team’s underserved triumph.

Despite their win, WBA remain nine points adrift of safety however, and their chances of enjoying a similar streak of fortune against Allardyce’s old club Everton on Thursday seem slim.

Everton back in top four contention

Everton meanwhile, have rejoined the top four conversation following back-to-back wins to nil over Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Southampton.

The Toffees first victory at Anfield since 1999 is certain to have galvanised their confidence ahead of the campaign’s final flurry, and the Blues could find themselves in the Champions League qualification places if results go their way in midweek.

Everton worth backing

With successive wins to nil pushing them on, Everton are building a head of steam and Carlo Ancelotti’s men are an excellent price to make it three victories in a row at West Brom’s expense on Thursday.

The Baggies enjoyed three huge slices of luck to beat Brighton last time out, though they are unlikely to be as fortunate for two games running, and a confident Everton team that blitzed Albion 5-2 in September can claim another three points in the return fixture.

The Toffees are unbeaten in eight games on the road, though they conceded in three of their last four matches away from Goodison Park. Everton also hit exactly two goals in three of those contests, a record that makes a 2-1 Blues win a correct score prediction worth backing this week.

West Brom injuries and team news

Robert Snodgrass is expected back for the Baggies after missing recent matches through injury, while centre-half Semi Ajayi is free to play again having served his suspension.

Sam Allarydce is expected to keep a midfield three of Yoksulu, Conor Gallagher and Ainsley Maitland-Niles together.

Everton injuries and team news

Yerry Mina, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Fabian Delph are all ruled out for Everton, while doubts remain over the fitness of Seamus Coleman, James Rodriguez, Tom Davies and Robin Olsen.
