Tip Reasoning

  • Preston boss Ryan Lowe has admitted himself that he is ‘learning about the players game-by-game.
  • Six of West Brom’s last seven games have seen fewer than three goals.
  • New signing Daryl Dike went off injured last time out and the attacker will likely miss this one for the hosts.

Ismaël under pressure

The hosts secured their first victory of the New Year as they left it late, scoring three goals in 11 minutes in the final stages of the match and as a result, they now sit in fifth place. However, in a somewhat disappointing fashion, they are 12 points adrift of leaders Fulham and some West Brom fans have been calling for a change from boss Valérien Ismaël. There’s no denying he is under pressure, and new attacking signing Daryl Dike looks set to miss this one, leaving the Baggies even more toothless going forward.

West Bromwich Albion have a clear target to work towards, but for Preston North End, finishing in a midtable position looks more than likely, with their chances of a playoff place dwindling after each matchday. Ryan Lowe’s men are coming off the back of a defeat away to Swansea and it would seem the new manager still isn’t sure what his best team is. They’re now winless across their last three games and it’s difficult to see them claiming victory here at The Hawthorns.

Goals few and far between

We think this will be a close game. West Brom are limited in terms of their attacking output and the new Preston Manager will be wanting to focus on making themselves more solid at the back. It would be a huge surprise to see an influx of goals and so we’re siding with the unders here in a narrow home win.
