Tip Reasoning

West Ham couldn’t manage to build on their win against Swansea last weekend when they visited the relegation threatened Sunderland, going ahead against the bottom of the table side before succumbing to their trademark defensive collapses and drawing the game 2-2.

This draw leaves them with just one win from their last nine games in the Premier League, with three draws and five defeats making up the remainder of the results and leaving them in a disappointing 13th place in the table. They are nine points above the drop zone and should be safe in their current position, but it’s certainly not been a satisfactory season.

The move to the London Stadium can be seen as partly to blame, with them struggling to pick up any momentum at their new ground and actually performing as badly there as they have on the road. The Hammers have won two, drawn one, and lost five of their last eight games at home, conceding 18 goals in the process.

Everton, unlike their hosts, are having a tremendous season. They beat Burnley 3-1 last weekend to make it four wins from their last six games and put them level on points with 6th placed Arsenal. The team above do have two games in hand on them, but The Toffees 13 point lead on 8th placed West Brom means they are well in the running for a top seven finish.

This is almost exclusively thanks to their sensation attack, fronted by Romelu Lukaku. They have scored as many goals as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City this season and are only two goals behind league leaders Chelsea.

Away from home they have been let down by their defence though. Everton have won two, drawn four, and lost six of their last 12 on the road, keeping just three clean sheets and conceding a total of 21 goals in the process. They have managed to score in all but three of these games though, which has made for some very entertaining football.

West Ham’s dodgy defence has resulted in some high scoring affairs too. Six of their last seven home games have seen at least three goals, and considering both teams are struggling at the back odds of 1/1 for Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score look good value for money. I’m going for that along with a high scoring draw with a 2-2 correct score predictions as 12/1.

I’m also backing Manuel Lanzini to score anytime at fantastic odds of 10/3 for our goalscorer predictions. The attacking midfielders has bagged three goals in West Ham’s last four home games and has been by far the most threatening player for The Hammers whilst Michail Antonio has been injured, so odds of 10/3 are excellent value for money.
