      West Ham vs Liverpool Predictions

West Ham certainly weren’t at their best on Saturday. They lost 1-0 away to Southampton in a very cagey affair, and their attacking talent couldn’t manage to take advantage of the hosts numeric deficit after Victor Wanyama was sent off.

This defeat made it just one win from West Ham’s last five matches in all competitions, with losses against Newcastle and Southampton making up opposite ends of a run which has seen them draw against Liverpool and Manchester City and beat Aston Villa.

They remain in a decent 6th position in the Premier League though, and they do still have a real chance of getting a 5th place finish should Manchester United continue to underperform.

Liverpool relinquished a two goal lead at home to Sunderland on Saturday, allowing the relegation candidates to score two goals in the final ten minutes.

This 2-2 draw extended their winless streak to four games in all competitions, with the only positive during this period being a penalty win against Stoke in the League Cup semi final after losing the home match 1-0.

Overall, Liverpool have only managed to win twice in their last nine matches in all competitions, and even Exeter City managed to get an FA Cup 3rd Round Replay out of them.

This puts them down in 9th position in the Premier League, a disappointing standing considering they were hoping for European football at least next season.

I’m sure that Liverpool would welcome an FA Cup win though, but it might not be that simple. West Ham have managed to do the Premier League double over Liverpool this season for the first time in decades, and overall West Ham have won three, drawn one, and lost one of their last five matches against Liverpool.

I think West Ham have what it takes to get another result against Jurgen Klopp’s side. The Hammers seem to find their feet when facing the big teams in the league and I think odds of 4/6 for West Ham to Quality are excellent value. I’m going for a 1-0 correct score prediction at 13/2 as well.
