Wigan vs Hull City Predictions
- Wigan have lost seven of their last nine home league games.
- Hull have won four and drawn two of their last six away Championship matches.
- Oscar Estupinan has scored goals in back-to-back games to make it ten for the season.
Hull have away form to win at Wigan
Rock-bottom Wigan have the worst home form in the Championship and that is unlikely to change much after a Bank Holiday Monday visit from resurgent Hull City.
The Latics lost their third game in a row on Thursday when Sunderland thrashed them 4-1 at the DW Stadium and they sit three points below the safety line. New boss Kolo Toure is struggling to get to grips with the demands of the Championship, although the run of fixtures he has had has been pretty brutal.
This may look like an easier opportunity to get three points on the board against a team down in the bottom seven, but Hull are much more dangerous on the road than they are at MKM Stadium.
Draw no bet offers safer option
The Tigers have taken 14 points from their last six away games and, having taken only two more from their previous six, appear to have found the perfect formula on their travels. Having shipped ten in those first six, to concede only five in the last six is clearly part of where the improvement lies.
Hull can win this game and the odds of 15/8 are quite attractive all things considered, but backing them draw no bet adds more safety and the even money quote appeals in this spot. Wigan created much more than Sheffield United in a 2-1 home loss just before Christmas so can be dangerous when they get things right.
A 2-1 Hull win is the preferred correct score play as the Tigers have scored at least two goals in three of their last six away games while Wigan have shipped multiple goals in the last homes two while each time scoring exactly once.
