Wigan To Live Up To Favourites Tag

Despite sitting second in League One, Wigan’s home record is not all that good, losing three of their nine matches en route to picking up 16 points so far.

The Latics remain strong favourites for this one, though. They are unbeaten in nine, winning five of those fixtures, while they have only lost once to a team in the bottom half of the table this season.

Conceding goals remains a problem, with no clean sheet in their last five, but they still have more than enough firepower to blow away a struggling Shrewsbury side.

Shrews Struggling Away

After nine league games on the road this season, Shrewsbury are yet to register a win, picking up just two points thanks to a couple of draws.

Although they have only conceded 14 goals in those fixtures, they have failed to keep a single clean sheet, netting just five times at the other end.

The good news for Steve Cotterill’s side is those five goals have come in their last six outings, so they are beginning to find the back of the net more regularly.

But this is likely to be a step too far for them. Although I expect them to score, I think they will come up short in a 2-1 defeat.
