Wolfsburg vs Borussia Dortmund Betting Tips

Wolfsburg dominated all but Bayern Munich last season, putting in some excellent performances to secure 2^nd place in the Bundesliga and winning the DFP Pokal.

But the loss of influential playmaker Kevin De Bruyne towards the end of the transfer window hit them hard, and they haven’t managed to hit the heights they did last season so far.

Wolfsburg have lost two of their last five games in all competitions, winning twice and drawing once. Their most recent result was a disappointing goalless draw at Augsburg.

They are better on home turf though, with four of their last five home games ending in victory and only a loss to Bayern Munich marring their record this season.

This has taken them to 3^rd in the Bundesliga table with 25 points from their opening 14 games. However, they are already seven points behind 2^nd placed Borussia Dortmund and 15 points off the leaders Bayern Munich.

This puts Borussia Dortmund eight points adrift of the leaders despite their generally excellent form, and they will be hoping to close the gap with a win on Saturday.

Their back to back defeats to Hamburger and Krasnodar were put to bed last weekend when they thrashed Stuttgart 4-1.

This puts their recent form at eight wins and two losses from their last ten matches in all competitions, with 32 goals scored and 11 goals conceded. They certainly do make for entertaining matches.

Seven of these ten games have seen both sides hit the back of the net, while Wolfsburg have conceded in four of their last seven. I can’t see the hosts keeping a clean sheet on Saturday, and odds of 4/5 for Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score look good value considering that Dortmund have averaged early three goals per Bundesliga game this season. I’m also backing a 3-1 Dortmund win at 11/1.
