Wolves vs Middlesbrough Predictions
The Teesiders were flying but have just hit their first rough patch of the season although remain in the top six coming into this game. They haven’t score in any of their last 3 matches losing 2-0 at Reading and 1-0 at Cardiff either side of a goalless draw at home to Fulham.
It is a bit of a mystery given they were scoring freely prior to that but they do at least have good memories of their 3-0 win over Wolves just last month in the Capital One Cup although they were beaten 2-0 at Molineux last season.
Wolves seem to have regressed slightly on last term when they narrowly missed out on a play-off spot. The departure of Bakary Sako is a big reason for that and they’ve not been anywhere near as consistent with a few impressive performances coming prior to back-to-back defeats against Derby last weekend and a 2-0 home loss to Brentford in midweek.
So confidence will be pretty low in both camps and it seems doubtful that both sides will be able to return to their best on the same day. It is 6 matches and over a month since both sides scored in a match involving Middlesbrough while it has happened only once in the last 4 games involving Wolves. Therefore backing ‘No’ in the both teams to score market here might be the way to go and you can do that at 5/6.
With Boro’s forward players flattering to deceive at the moment they might look for a solid defensive performance here of which they were the masters of last season. With home games against struggling Charlton and Rotherham immediately following this Aitor Karanka might be content with a point and would like to avoid a damaging 3rd defeat in 4 matches at all costs.
Likewise Wolves wouldn’t be devastated with that outcome having been so poor against Brentford in midweek so perhaps this could end in a scrappy 0-0 draw and you can back that to be the case at 15/2.
