Title-chasing Wycombe needs to buck a trend

Third-placed Wycombe Wanderers entertain AFC Wimbledon at Adams Park on Saturday looking to keep the pressure on the two sides above them in the League One table. The top three all sit on 41 points but Wycombe has played a game more than Rotherham and two games more than Wigan Athletic, meaning they could easily lose ground when those games in hand have taken place. It’s vital they keep their good form going and to do so, they’ll need to beat a Wimbledon side that they have failed to win against in any of their previous seven meetings.

AFC Wimbledon are scoring an average of 1.5 goals per game this season, the issue is they’re conceding just over 1.5 goals per game too. The visitors last game was an excellent result as they travelled to Accrington Stanley and won whilst keeping a clean sheet. It was the first time they’d prevented their opponents from scoring against them since October but it will take something special to prevent this high-flying Wycombe outfit from finding the back of their net.
