Tip Reasoning
- Wycombe have lost all four of their opening league games, scoring no goals and conceding ten.
- Six of the sides’ combined eight games this term have produced fewer than 2.5 goals and seen BTTS fail to register.
- Millwall edged out newly promoted opposition in the shape of Rotherham (0-1) on their travels on the opening day of the season.
It’s fair to say that Millwall haven’t pulled up any trees so far this term after threatening the Play-Offs last season, but they should have enough to dispatch Gareth Ainsworth’s toiling Wycombe side this Saturday.
There’s a growing gulf in quality these days that League One clubs must overcome when promoted to the Championship and Wycombe have looked hopelessly out of their depth in the second tier thus far.
The Chairboys have lost all four of their opening games for the concession of ten goals and have yet to register themselves in 360 minutes of football. Wycombe undoubtedly have time to find their feet, but the early signs point to nothing other than a swift return to League One.
Ainsworth’s side take on one of the Championship’s toughest outfits in the shape of Millwall this weekend and it’s no surprise to see the Lions chalked up as odds-on favourites, despite a mediocre start to the campaign.
Gary Rowett’s men have five points on the board from a possible 12, although they were only edged out 2-1 by a decent Swansea outfit last time, following a 0-1 win at Rotherham and draws against Stoke (0-0) and Brentford (1-1).
A reproduction of those efforts should be more than sufficient to see Millwall towards three points this weekend and we’re predicting a comfortable 0-2 score-line in the visitors’ favour, with Wycombe’s hunt for points and goals set to continue for at least another week.
