      Yeovil Town vs Cheltenham Predictions

Yeovil Town may not be in the same sort of trouble as they were a month ago, but their winless streak continues in League 2. They played out a goalless draw at Tranmere on Saturday to make it 8 league games without a win, although the fact that 3 of the last 4 have been stalemates is a marginal improvement.

Still, The Glovers sit precariously close to the relegation zone at the moment. They are currently 21st in the table and have a 4 point cushion over Macclesfield in 23rd, but it’s a disappointing lack of progress from the side that finished 19th last term.

Their opponents on New Year’s Day, Cheltenham, are in a similar sort of position in terms of the league table. They sit in 19th and have just 2 points more than Yeovil Town, but unlike their hosts they are showing signs of improvement at the moment.

The Robins, like Yeovil, played out a draw on Saturday as they hosted promotion contenders Forest Green Rovers. However, unlike Yeovil they are now unbeaten in 5 league matches and have only lost 1 of their last 9 outings.

This dramatic improvement of form has come at a vital point in the season, and they will head into the new year confident that they have what it takes to remain in the Football League.

Cheltenham do find it a lot more difficult to get the win when away from home though. They have only won 1 of their last 8 trips away and have collected just 3 wins on the road all season. Still, with points in 4 of their last 6 away days they are improving in that respect as well.

They are also facing a Yeovil Town side who can’t even manage to find a win at Huish Park. Their last, and shockingly only win of the season at home came back at the end of August, and they have actually only won 1 of their last 17 home games in League 2.

As bleak as this sounds, Yeovil are at least quite difficult to beat at Huish Park. They have drawn a massive 7 of their 11 home games in League 2 this season, and with both teams drawing 3 of their last 4 overall league outings this makes a draw look a very solid bet on Tuesday. We’re backing that along with a 1-1 correct score predictions.
