Yeovil Town vs Port Vale Predictions
The middle ground of League Two can be an intriguing place to have a bet as you can often get fantastic value in finding a match where one side is on the up and the other just off the boil, but you have to know what to look for in order to make it a profitable endeavour. This Tuesday evening sees two sides who are currently in such a position as Yeovil Town welcome Port Vale to Huish Park.
The hosts will be pleased to be back on home soil as they have now been on the road for three consecutive away matches in the league, and things have not exactly gone to plan. Despite recording a victory in the first of those three matches, defeat followed in the next two and those back-to-back losses have left the side down in 18th position. What is a particular concern for boss Darren Way is, other than their 4-0 win over West Ham’s Under 23 side in the Checkatrade trophy, Yeovil have not managed to score more than once in a game in their last seven matches.
Making the trip to Huish Park is the side directly above Yeovil in the League Two table, Port Vale. Like their hosts, Vale have plenty of problems to address in front of goal if they are going to go on and climb the table and the fact that a massive 74% of their games have finished with less than 2.5 goals scored underlines that fact. Added to these woes is the fact that Vale have managed to score just four times on the road, which given that they have played nine times away from home, averages at just 0.44 goals per game.
With the lack of goals demonstrated by both of these teams this season, it is hard to see this one going down as a classic. Given the stats we have discussed, it should come as a shock to nobody to learn that we are backing there to be less than 2.5 goals scored for our tip in this fixture.
