Young Boys vs Villarreal Predictions
- There have been at least three goals in six of Young Boys last eight matches.
- Over 2.5 goals has landed in all four of Young Boys previous four Champions League home games.
- Villarreal have made themselves exceptionally difficult to beat on the road, drawing four of their last five, losing just once 2-1 to Manchester United.
Tricky test for The Yellow Submarine
Young Boys currently sits third in the Swiss Super League, four points off of FC Basel with a game in hand and considering they’ve won the league in three of the last four years, they’ll want to rectify that and start putting in some better performances, starting at home to Villarreal in the Champions League.
The Yellow Submarine have made a favourable habit of keeping games tight and always making sure they have a chance of getting something from the game. They were able to contain Atalanta to a certain extent and ensure the visitors only left with a point as they drew 2-2, they lost their other Champions League game away to Manchester United but probably deserved to win it themselves. They now travel to Switzerland and will have to deal with the task of limiting a side who’ve scored 15 goals in their last five games to few chances.
The hosts are without a few key players through injury heading into this one, but their philosophy never changes. We’re expecting home advantage to play a factor but we also think Unai Emery’s side will be able to get something from the game in what could be a thriller.
A high scoring draw could be on the cards here.
