Expect goals as Zorya host Rapid

Rapid Vienna have one foot in the Europa League group stages after a 3-0 win over Zorya in the first leg in Austria.

Thursday’s second leg in the Ukraine may not be as straightforward, although Zorya are yet to record a victory at home after three games this season (D1, L2).

Rapid have struggled on their travels in European qualifiers and lost 2-0 at Sparta Prague earlier in the summer, ending their Champions League hopes, before going down 2-1 in Cyprus to Anorthosis in the previous round of Europa League qualifiers.  

Rapid are winless on their travels with one draw and three defeats but they have at least been scoring and the only game where they failed to grab a goal was the defeat in Prague.  Zorya have scored in two of their three home games and the goals markets look the best option here.

There have at least three goals in total in each of Rapid’s last six games and in four of Zorya’s last five, so over 2.5 goals is my main tip for this match up and a 2-2 draw appeals in the correct score market.
