Entertainment expected as Bournemouth host Tottenham

Bournemouth and Tottenham meet at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday in a game that has the potential to be a high-scoring aftair.

The Cherries are on an 11-game winless run but they have at least managed to stop the rot to a degree. Andoni Iralola’s side have four draws in their last six games, and they put in a decent performance in a 3-2 defeat at home to pacesetters Arsenal over the weekend.

Spurs come into the game in the bottom half of the table but they are still jusrt four points behind Chelsea in fifth spot. European qualification isn’t out of the question for either of these sides just yet if they can rediscover some form in the latter half of the season.

Goals markets the best angle

Bournemouth’s recent run of draws and the fact Tottenham have drawn back-to-back games suggests this game could finish all square, so the goals markets are the best approach for this fixture rather than the match result and over 3.5 goals stands out as a value option.

Four of Bournemouth’s last five games have produced at least four goals and both teams have scored in all of those clashes. The Cherries have managed just one clean sheet across their 11-game winless streak and have scored 10 goals across their last five games, so goals at both ends looks likely and these sides could well combine for four goals.

Tottenham may be down in 13th spot but their road form isn’t the issue. Spurs have picked up 18 of their 27 points on their travels – giving them the second best away record in the league – and they’ve scored 16 times across their 10 Premier League trips so they should be able to add to the total.

Spoils could be shared

Tottenham’s away record indicates that if one side is to edge this it could be the visitors but the Cherries have shown a bit of fight lately and these sides could play out an entertaining draw. A 2-2 stalemate is the pick on the basis that Bournemouth have scored twice against Chelsea (2-2) and Arsenal lately, while Spurs come into the game after back-to-back draws and two of their last four away games have finished level.

Evanilson was on target for Bournemouth in the defeat to Arsenal and now has two goals in his last five games, also scoring in the incredible 4-4 draw with Manchester United. The Brazilian forward looks a contender for an anytime effort on Wednesday.
