Manchester United to Win

Reason for tip

Everton have struggled to adapt to their new home and have lost more games at home this season than they have won or drawn. Manchester United have only lost three times away from home in the Premier League and they come into this game on the back of a five-match unbeaten run.

Manchester United 2-1

Reason for tip

Everton have scored in five consecutive matches in all competitions at home and should be competitive, but they have struggled to keep clean sheets in front of their own fans. They have shipped goals in six consecutive matches on Merseyside.

Everton vs Manchester United Predictions

  • Everton are winless in six games at home
  • The Toffees have conceded in all six of those ties, but netted in five of those meetings
  • Bryan Mbuemo has scored three goals in five appearances since returning from AFCON

Red Devils to get back on track

Manchester United’s winning run was stopped by West Ham last time out, but the Red Devils remain on the right path under interim coach Michael Carrick.

The Red Devils have yet to lose since he stepped into the dugout to replace Ruben Antorim in January and four wins and a draw have given the Red Devils every chance of finishing in the top four.

Carrick’s side have a five-point gap to make up on third-placed Aston Villa, but with Chelsea, Liverpool and Brentford breathing down their necks, they have work to do to secure Champions League football for next season.

Everton remain in the hunt for European football, but David Moyes’ side needs to improve their form at home if they are to have any chance of playing on the continent next season.

The Toffees have failed to win any of their last six games in front of their own fans and that does not bode well ahead of Manchester United’s visit, with the Red Devils only losing three times in 13 away games.

Moyes’ men to go down swinging

Everton have lost five of their 13 home games this season, but they have scored 16 goals and they remain competitive.

The hosts have scored in five of their last six home fixtures, but their defensive frailties have been exposed. Moyes has watched his side concede two or more goals in three of their last five at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and United are looking to score two goals or more for the fifth time in six matches since Carrick took charge.

Mbuemo the dangerman for United

The visitors have relied on Bruno Fernandes’ brilliance for too long in recent years, but Bryan Mbuemo has managed to take the pressure off his team-mates shoulders with some stunning displays in recent weeks.

Mbuemo has registered 11 shots in his last five appearances, with five of those hitting the target. Three of those strikes have found the back of the net and he has found a new lease of life under Carrick in United’s attack.
