The Milwaukee Brewers got us off to a hot start with a big win on the 1st leg. The Philadelphia Phillies stood no chance in this one, the lead was 5:0 after two innings and it balooned to 11:1 after the 4th which meant the game was pretty much sealed. In the end Milwaukee came out on top 12:4 to get us off to a winning start!
The 2nd game was a lot tougher between the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians. After falling down 1:0 in the opening inning, the Indians levelled the score in the 4th. The next four innings saw no points scored by either team and Cleveland was able to dominate the 9th with three runs which put the game beyond doubt.
Similar to the Indians, the NY Yankees fell behind early against the New York Mets, but luckily for us they were able to overturn the result. The comeback started in the 6th inning as the Yankees scored four runs over the final four innings to win their 3rd game in a row!
Division rivals Houston Astros and Texas Rangers clashed in the 4th game of the acca. Our Astros fell behind 1:0 to start the game, but quickly came back with a 4:0 2nd inning. They didn’t stop there and continued to build on the lead, ultimately to finish the job with a 7:3 win. It was their 3rd straight win, while the Rangers have dropped their last two.
And finally, the red hot LA Angels were up against the Minnesota Twins. In an evenly matched game which was tied at 1:1 through the first 5 innings, the Angels came back in the 7th and 8th innings by scoring 3 runs. Minnesota simply could not reply in the remaining 9th inning and the game was sealed as well as our Accumulator! Interestingly enough, the Angels have a far superior road record at 19-10 than their home record at 17-18.
