Continental Cards Acca: 227/1 & 9/2 tips for this weekend

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
Club football returns on Friday night, with no more international breaks to worry about until March. With a busy few months ahead, I’ve decided to use the couple of quiet days leading up to Friday’s action to dive into some numbers across Europe’s top leagues.
Below is a 227/1 fourfold, featuring some of the leading card magnets and the highest committers of fouls across the continent. There’s a tip per day from Friday to Monday as we celebrate a long weekend of action, while the tips cover four different European leagues.
Continental Cards Acca
Dominik Kohr to be booked
Mainz vs Hoffenheim (7:30pm, Friday)
Kohr has five yellow cards to his name in the Bundesliga this season, a joint-high across Europe’s top five leagues. The Mainz defender has also been booked in the Conference League and German Cup, while he was sent off in a clash with Augsburg in September.
Kohr has made the second-most fouls for Mainz in the league this term, which is a considerable record considering that Mainz have the fifth-highest foul count across the Bundesliga.
Rio Hillen to be booked
NAC Breda vs PSV (3:30pm, Saturday)
Hillen missed NAC Breda’s last game through suspension, after racking up his fifth caution of the Eredivisie campaign in just 10 appearances. Only one player in the Dutch top-flight has more bookings than Hillen, while the defender has a chance to add to his tally this weekend.
Hillen’s side host PSV on Saturday, with the Dutch giants winning six of their last seven games in emphatic fashion. Hillen is in for a busy afternoon, despite being priced at 9/2 to pick up a caution. He’s comfortably the longest price in the fourfold, despite arguably facing the toughest test.
Aron Donnum to be booked
Toulouse vs Angers (4:15pm, Sunday)
Norway international Donnum is another player on five bookings for the campaign, which has marked him out for this acca. The versatile midfielder picked up four bookings across a five-game stretch between late August and early October.
The defender returns to action for Toulouse, having been booked in three of his six home appearances this term. Opponents Angers will pose some threat, having lost only one of their last five games.
Pol Lozano to be booked
Espnayol vs Sevilla (8pm, Monday)
Lozano is one of only two players across Europe’s top five leagues to commit more than 30 fouls so far this season. He’s only been booked twice so far, but that high rate of fouls makes him a player to target ahead of Monday’s meeting with Sevilla.
Sevilla rank sixth in La Liga for fouls by opponents this term, while they lead the league in bookings with 41. Their games tend to get fiery, so there’s value in targeting a player who stands out across the continent for his fouls this season to pick up a card.
