La Liga 2025/26 outright predictions with 10/1 & 2/1 selections

The new La Liga campaign gets underway this weekend, with Real Madrid and Atletico aiming to wrestle the title off Barcelona following their incredible campaign last term.

With plenty of jeopardy at the top and bottom, there are plenty of La Liga outright markets to get stuck into. Below we have 10/1, 2/1, & 11/10 selection.

La Liga outright predictions

Barcelona to win La Liga

As ever, Real Madrid and Barcelona are widely expected to dominate the top of the table, with Atletico Madrid the only realistic contenders to the big two of Spanish football.

With Xabi Alonso looking to stamp his mark on Los Blancos, Barcelona could take advantage during the early part of the season with a quick start and ratchet up the pressure on the new Real Madrid manager.

Barcelona are further boosted by a summer to rest and prepare for the new season, while their two main rivals were busy at the FIFA Club World Cup and could struggle at the beginning of the campaign as a result.

Alexander Sorloth to be top goalscorer

Alexander Sorloth finished fourth in the scoring charts last season in his debut campaign with Atletico Madrid. The forward earned a switch to the Spanish capital by scoring 23 times for Villarreal in 2023/24, which saw him miss out on the golden boot by a single goal.

He averaged 1.15 goals per 90 minutes last season, which was significantly higher than any other player across La Liga. While he scored three fewer goals than he did at Villarreal, his underlying numbers improved, suggesting Atletico were getting him into better positions.

Adding his former teammate Alex Baena should improve Atletico’s creativity, so Sorloth is the standout option in the goalscorer stakes at 10/1.

Villarreal to finish in the top four

Marcelino led his side to a fifth-place finish last time out and, with it, a spot in the Champions League. Villarreal ended the season level on points with fourth-placed Athletic Bilbao and the Yellow Submarine can go one better this time around.

The loss of Alex Baena to Atletico would usually be a concern, but Villarreal have moved quickly to bring in highly rated Spanish under-21 forward Alberto Moleiro, who is expected to slot directly into Baena’s role. Marcelino has further strengthened his squad with the season-long loan signing of Rafa Marín from Napoli. The former Real Madrid defender adds depth to a back line that Marcelino will be keen to tighten up after last season’s inconsistencies.

Espanyol to be relegated

Despite finishing 14th last season, Espanyol only avoided relegation by two points on the final day, and the Catalans look vulnerable once again this campaign.

With the likes of Sevilla and Girona expected to improve, Espanyol may find themselves in a battle with the three promoted clubs to avoid the drop. The loss of goalkeeper Joan Garcia to rivals Barcelona further weakens the squad, and with the new signings on the underwhelming side, another season of struggle looks likely.
