The three promoted teams dominate the relegation betting in the Premier League ahead of the new season as the trio are all odds-on to go straight back down.
Last season, only Burnley were immediately relegated as both Leeds and Sunderland avoided the drop – with both achieving the feat in some style.
That ended a run of what comes up must go down as in 2023-24 all three promoted teams went straight back down for the first time since 1997-98, and for just the second time in Premier League history, but it was a case of the same again the following campaign with Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton going down.
Ipswich are back for another campaign in the top tier, alongside Coventry and play-off winners Hull City.

Premier League Relegation Predictions
Fulham to be relegated @ 11/2
The three teams that have been promoted will almost all be in and around the relegation places and Hull in particular look set to struggle. The Tigers sneaked into sixth spot in the Championship last season with 73 points, 22 behind champions Coventry, and haven’t improved their squad enough to suggest they will offer much in the top tier.
Ipswich have been fairly adventurous in the transfer market and Gary O’Neil appears a decent managerial appointment after Kieran McKenna opted to depart. Cov were easily the best team in the second tier last season, and they’ve also brought in a few quality additions.
The Tractor Boys and Coventry both have a shot at survival so an established name could drop out, and Fulham may be vulnerable.
The Cottagers have lost long-serving manager Marco Silva and a couple of key men. Raul Jimenez and Harry Wilson combined for 19 of their 47 league goals last season, Wilson also had seven assists, but the duo have departed as free agents. The Cottagers look a weaker team than they were last term and they could end up being dragged into the relegation battle.
Coventry not to be relegated @ 11/10
Following on from the above, of the three promoted sides it is perhaps Coventry who look best placed to avoid going straight back down.
Ipswich have recent experience of the Premier League and that works in their favour, but losing McKenna as boss is a blow and there could be a transitional period under O’Neil.
In the Cov dugout, Frank Lampard perhaps has a bit of a point to prove after difficult spells at Chelsea, twice, and Everton previously.
Attacking trio Haji Wright, Ellis Simms and Brandon Thomas-Asante have enough quality to be a threat in the top tier and summer capture Frank Onyeka adds some much needed experience to their midfield engine.
It will be tough but Cov will feel they can be competitive in the Premier League and they may be able to extend their stay beyond just one season.
