Weekly Top 10: 955/1 Acca for the international break

The new bumper international break is underway, but there are still plenty of games to focus on, both in the Nations League and in the club game.

Below are 10 selections from the next seven days, which combine for a 955/1 accumulator.

Seattle Sounders to beat Real Salt Lake (Thursday, 2:30am)

Both of these sides are on long winless runs, but Seattle enter this clash having drawn five on the spin, while Real Salt Lake have suffered six defeats in seven.

Salt Lake were beaten 3-0 at home by Vancouver last weekend, and they’ve suffered eight defeats across their 12 away matches this season. Seattle showed plenty of fight last time out, equalising three times in a draw at a Colorado side that had won six straight home matches prior to that.

Real Salt Lake have lost six of their last nine visits to Seattle, and they’re without a win across their last ten MLS trips.

Norway to beat Denmark (Thursday, 7:45pm)

Norway return to action for the first time since their loss to England in Miami, and the Nations League offers them an opportunity to build on their increased standing in international football.

Denmark failed to win in all four of their Nations League trips in the previous campaign, while a defeat in Scotland last November was a hammer blow to their World Cup hopes, before their play-off defeat in the Czech Republic.

Portugal to win and both teams to score vs Wales (Thursday, 7:45pm)

Portugal begin their Nations League title defence under new boss Jorge Jesus, while Cristiano Ronaldo remains in the squad.

While Portugal’s major tournament appearances have been cagey, they tend to play with more freedom in the Nations League. They won and conceded in all four of their home matches on their way to the finals in 2025.

Both teams have scored in each of Wales’ last five internationals, while they suffered 4-3 and 4-2 defeats to Belgium in qualifying last year.

Both teams to score in Georgia vs Northern Ireland (Friday, 5pm)

Northern Ireland took steps forward in their World Cup qualifying campaign, and Michael O’Neill’s new-look squad is much more comfortable on the ball than his Euro 2016 team.

Georgia are favourites at home, but they’ve conceded in two of their three home friendlies this year. They followed up conceding eight times in four games at Euro 2024 by keeping only two clean sheets in eight Nations League games, while they conceded 15 times in their six World Cup qualifiers last year.

Both teams have scored in NI’s visits to Wales and France this year, and both teams are backed to score in Tbilisi.

Girona to win and both teams to score vs Albacete (Friday, 7:30pm)

Albacete have lost five of their first six matches this season, and they head to a Girona side that have found their feet in the second tier.

Girona picked up one point from their first two matches after suffering relegation from La Liga. However, they’ve won three from four, including a 5-2 victory over Las Palmas and a 2-1 win against Cadiz.

Almere City to win at FC Dordrecht (Friday, 8pm)

Dordrecht have fallen away since making a solid start to the season, as they’ve suffered five straight defeats in the Dutch second tier.

That run has seen Dordrecht concede 18 times, and they’re yet to keep a clean sheet across their seven matches this term.

Almere City sit second in the table after winning five of their last six, and they’ve scored 12 times across their four away trips.

Over 2.5 goals in Wycombe vs Reading (Saturday, 3pm)

Both teams have scored in six of Wycombe’s seven games this season, and they meet one of League One’s highest-scoring sides this weekend.

Reading have struck 14 goals in six matches, but they’ve also conceded seven times this term.

The Chairboys have drawn 3-3 with MK Dons and lost 2-1 to Sheffield Wednesday in their last two at home, and Reading’s attacking form should spur another entertaining encounter.

Bristol Rovers to beat Exeter (Saturday, 3pm)

Bristol Rovers have suffered back-to-back defeats on the road, but they can extend their perfect home record when they host Exeter City.

The visitors have won only one of their seven matches since dropping out of League One, and they’ve been beaten in all three of their away trips, scoring only once.

Bristol Rovers have scored eight goals in their three home games in League Two, keeping two clean sheets, and they can ease to another victory.

Czech Republic double chance vs Croatia (Saturday, 7:45pm)

Croatia still refuse to move on from their golden generation, and their Nations League opener looks like a tricky test.

The Czech Republic were unbeaten in their four home World Cup qualifiers, which included a 0-0 draw with Croatia. They drew 2-2 with the Republic of Ireland and Denmark in the play-offs, winning both on penalties.

Home advantage could prove decisive once again for them, with their last home defeat coming in September 2022.

Eibar to win vs Las Palmas (Sunday, 5:30pm)

Eibar have won five straight games, leaving them second in Spain’s second tier. They were a fantastic home side last season, winning 14 of 21 matches, and their home form should be key to this season’s promotion push.

Las Palmas have made a solid start, but their three victories have all come against teams in the relegation zone. They fell short in their first big test, which saw them lose 5-2 at Girona.

Eibar were 3-1 winners in this fixture in March, and they can see off Las Palmas once again.
