Here’s how it all unfolded:
Our accumulator commenced in Portugal, as Braga needed to beat Gil Vicente. This was a tightly fought affair, and both teams came into this fixture on the back of 2 consecutive wins. However, Gil Vicente couldn’t improve their away form and fell to an 8th minute goal from Ricardo Horta. This ended up being the only goal of the game, and Braga progressed to the next round of the cup!
Next up was Angers, who hosted a Nimes side currently sitting bottom of Ligue 1 with just 11 points. The hosts couldn’t seem to make a breakthrough for much of the game, and struggled to have more possession than their opponents. However, just after the hour mark Angers made a breakthrough via Mangani. He slotted home in the 67th minute, and this resulted in Angers taking home 3 points.
Torino haven’t a great start to the season, and this was part of the reason we chose Inter Milan to win as the next leg of our accumulator. This ended up being a comprehensive victory which never seemed to be in doubt. After just 32 minutes, Inter were 2-0 up and very much in control. Rounded off by a Romelu Lukaku goal in the second-half, the away side finished 3-0 victors and continue their challenge against Juventus for the Serie A title.
Finally, our accumulator relied on Real Madrid winning and both teams to score. We had what you could argue was the perfect start for our bet, with Willian Jose opening up the scoring for the visitors in the 2nd minute. A response was required from Real Madrid, and by half-time the hosts had equalised. All we needed now was for the hosts to win the game, and goals from Valverde and Modric resulted in a 3-1 victory for Real Madrid – landing our Evening Accumulator!
