Monday’s Scandinavian accumulator

Nordsjaelland vs Vejle – Denmark Superliga

Best bet – Nordsjaelland to win at 3/4

Nordsjaelland’s season didn’t get off to the best start last month with a 2-1 defeat at home to Viborg but they picked themselves up quickly and have looked excellent since then. Their 1-0 win at Brondby ten days ago made it three wins on the bounce and they are justified favourites on Monday.

Vejle were in the relegation battle last term but at the moment it’s looking like they could go down without a fight this time around. Their only point from five games came at home to an underperforming Brondby side, with defeats to Randers, Sonderjyske, Midtjylland and AaB coming either side of that solitary point. They have scored just three goals all season and another defeat could be on the cards here.

Djurgarden vs Mjallby – Sweden Allsvenskan

Best bet – Both teams to score at 19/20

Two sides with vastly differing fortunes meet on Monday as second-placed Djurgarden play host to  Mjallby side that sit 15th in the Allsvenskan table. Djurgarden are understandably odds-on favourites, but the value for this match lies elsewhere.

Djurgarden may only be behind Malmo on goal difference in the table but they have conceded in each of their last three home games, including a 4-1 defeat to AIK. They have scored eight goals at the other end during this period, while Mjallby have seen both teams score in five of their last six league away days and haven’t kept a clean sheet since May.

Goteborg vs Varberg – Sweden Allsvenskan

Best bet – Varberg double chance at 5/6

After 15 games these sides are separated by just two points in the Allsvenskan table and while Goteborg’s win at league leaders Malmo was hugely impressive earlier this month their home form is a huge concern for them.

They have only won one of their last seven home league games and that came against second-bottom Mjallby last month. Varberg are unbeaten in five after their win over Orebro last time out and their last two away days have ended in 1-1 stalemates.

Ostersunds vs Kalmar – Sweden Allsvenskan

Best bet – Kalmar to win at 10/11

Ostersunds are in dreadful shape right now, picking up just nine points in their opening 15 league games and lying bottom of the Allsvenskan table. Their last point – and their only point in the last three months – came in a draw against Hammarby at the start of August but they have lost six of their last seven in the league.

Their only home victories have come against teams in the bottom four and Kalmar come into this game unbeaten in three. The visitors have won two of these games and beat Norrkoping in their last trip away from home.
